Support for Memory Difficulties

Welcome to the Pupil and School Support course on ‘Supporting pupils with memory difficulties‘.

This short course provides all school staff with an understanding of different types of memory and how memory difficulties can impact on learning. It will explore memory difficulties and offer suggestions to how these difficulties can be supported within the classroom. 

The course is aimed at class teachers, teaching assistants and SENCOs. You may wish to use this short course as CPD for all members of staff. The course will usually take 30 minutes to complete online.

During this course, you will learn about:

✔ what we mean by ‘memory’ and the different types of memory that there are;

✔ common memory characteristics and the challenges pupils may face;

✔ strategies to support pupils with memory difficulties.
